		Windows and Macintosh: 
		 
		- - For a correct interpretation of the Latin script, especially regarding the scientific transcription of Arabic in Latin letters, please make sure you have the font Lucida Grande installed (System > Library > Fonts)
 
		- - Please note: bāʾ, tāʾ etc. without diacritical dots and fāʾ and qāf without diacritical dots are represented by their corresponding character with three diacritical dots.

		 Keyboard 
		To be able to type the scientific transcription of Arabic in Latin characters, please install the TRSCR keyboard. For the shortcuts to type in the correct transcription have a look at the transcription table. 
		
		Windows:
		 
		- - Download the keyboard TRAPTO.zip (250 kb)
 
		- - Open the file with the right mouse key in the context menu. If necessary install it to unpack it with WinZip or a similar application
 
		- - Double-click the file "setup" in the subfolder
 
		- - Open "Region and language options" within the system settings
 
		- - Choose the keyboard "Deutsch (Schweiz)" and click on "Add"
 
		- - Choose the transcription keyboard whenever necessary in the keyboard menu (generally in the status bar)

		Macintosh:
		 
		- - Download the keyboard Trscr.keylayout.zip (6 kb)
 
		- - Unpack the file by double clicking
 
		- - Copy it to the folder /Library/Keyboard Layouts/
 
		- - Activate the keyboard in Regional Settings/Keyboard Menu
